About Me

My background and experience

I graduated from California State University Northridge in 2016 with my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist after completing my intern hours in 2020. I worked in various roles and settings including; an adolescent therapist in a psychiatric hospital, an adolescent therapist in a variety of short-term residential treatment centers and a case manager with collaborative school-based supports. In 2021 I started my virtual private practice seeing a mixed bag of clients.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma that leads to difficulties with regulating emotions. I support clients who experience overwhelming anxiety that leads to behaviors like shutting down, self injurious behaviors and withdrawal from social situations. The clients I work with are willing to unpack childhood and the unconscious to increase self awareness and help them make sense of their current behaviors. I also work with couples who struggle with communication that leads to discontentment in their relationships.

With the use to CBT, DBT, perspective taking and the therapeutic relationship I help my clients learn skills to manage and reduce symptoms they are struggling with. I focus on balancing the dialectic between acceptance and change (what you’re doing totally makes sense and it’s not working for you so let’s work on changing it.)

I am passionate about understanding my clients’ world views to help them make sense of themselves and change what is not working for them. Anxiety and other mental health ailments can make life unmanageable at times. I want to help you learn how to manage it so you can be your most authentic badass self!
